Formula overview
If you eat a plant-based diet and are expecting, finding a prenatal that does not rely on fish oil can be harder than it should be. Cradle Grove is a pectin gummy designed to be an easy daily companion for pregnancy and the months leading up to it, with DHA from algae instead of fish.
Two gummies deliver folate, iodine, vitamin D, B12, B6, zinc, vitamin A and vitamin E, in a raspberry-lemon gummy that is easy to keep down when morning sickness makes capsules a chore.
Be aware of what it does not contain: it has no iron, choline or calcium. Many people need those too, so please review your full prenatal plan with your OB-GYN or midwife.*
What it does
Folate and iodine for pregnancy nutrition*
Two gummies provide 600 mcg DFE of folate (from 360 mcg folic acid) and 200 mcg of iodine, two nutrients that pregnancy guidelines single out.
Vitamin D and B12 in plant-friendly form*
The vegan version uses lichen-derived vitamin D3 (20 mcg, 800 IU) and vitamin B12, a nutrient plant-based eaters need to plan for.
Algal DHA, no fish*
DHA is the omega-3 that supports a baby's brain and eye development. We source it from algae, the same place fish get it.
How it works
Folate supports the development of the neural tube in early pregnancy; guidelines recommend folic acid before and during pregnancy. Iodine is needed for thyroid hormone, which supports a baby's brain development. DHA is a structural omega-3 in the brain and retina. Vitamin B12 is found naturally only in animal foods, so people eating plant-based diets rely on fortified foods or supplements.
Who it's for
Women who are pregnant, nursing or planning a pregnancy, who prefer a vegan gummy and who will cover iron, choline and calcium with their provider's guidance.
