Formula overview
If you take vitamin D, you may have heard that K2 is its natural partner. Vitamin D helps you absorb calcium; vitamin K2 helps direct it to the right places. Yet most K2 supplements come in gelatin softgels.
Oakheart K2 is a single-ingredient capsule: 100 mcg of menaquinone-7 (MK-7), the long-lasting form of K2, in a vegetable capsule.
Pair it with your D3, or take it on its own as a simple daily habit.*
What it does
Supports healthy bones*
Vitamin K2 activates osteocalcin, a protein that helps bind calcium into bone. A daily 100 mcg MK-7 capsule helps your body use calcium where it belongs.
Supports healthy calcium use*
K2 also activates matrix Gla protein, which keeps calcium out of soft tissue. It is why many people pair K2 with vitamin D.
The long-acting form
MK-7 stays active in the bloodstream far longer than K1, so one daily capsule is enough.
How it works
Vitamin K is a cofactor for an enzyme that adds a carboxyl group to certain proteins, activating them. Two of these are osteocalcin, which helps incorporate calcium into bone, and matrix Gla protein, which helps keep calcium out of arteries. MK-7 has a long half-life, so it keeps proteins carboxylated more steadily than K1.
Who it's for
Adults who take vitamin D, who eat few fermented foods or leafy greens, or who want to support bone health.
