Formula overview
Ashwagandha has been part of Ayurvedic practice for thousands of years, and it is now one of the most popular herbs in the world. Hushroot keeps it simple: 675 mg of organic ashwagandha root powder and a touch of organic black pepper, pressed into a single tablet.
We use the whole root, not a concentrated extract. That is a deliberate, traditional choice, and it also means our dose is not the same as a clinical trial of a branded extract. Most published studies use standardized extracts.
The tablet is coated with an organic film made from sunflower and guar, with no gelatin and no dyes, so it is vegan from end to end.

How it works
Ashwagandha root contains withanolides, plant compounds studied for how they interact with the body's stress-response system. Whole root powder provides these compounds along with the rest of the plant matrix. Black pepper is added because piperine is traditionally used to support absorption.

How to use
Take 1 tablet 1 to 3 times daily, preferably with meals, or as directed by a healthcare professional. Start with 1 tablet.
Cautions
Not for use during pregnancy or while nursing. Rare cases of liver injury have been reported with ashwagandha: stop use and seek medical advice if you notice yellowing of skin or eyes, dark urine or persistent abdominal pain. May affect thyroid hormone levels and may interact with sedatives, thyroid and immunosuppressant medications. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use if safety seal is damaged or missing. Store in a cool, dry place. Pregnant or nursing mothers, children under 18, and individuals with a known medical condition or taking any medication should consult a physician before using this or any dietary supplement.

Is this standardized KSM-66 or Sensoril?
No. It is organic whole-root powder. Many clinical studies use concentrated extracts, so results from those studies may not apply directly.
Is it USDA Organic?
The stock formula uses certified organic ingredients, and we will apply the USDA Organic seal only once our label is certified by the certifier.
Why black pepper?
Piperine in black pepper is traditionally added to herbal formulas to support absorption.
